Christening gift for my God-Son?
I just found an adorable “finger blanket” with an attached stuffed dog @ Red Envelope (love their gifts and gift boxes)! http://gifts.redenvelope.com/baby/puppyfingerblanket-30003695?viewpos=17&trackingpgroup=rbbaq&ref=redgaffFriendFam20percent_Digital+Editor&prid=GAFFxx0FF&op=new christening keepsakes ps- 20% off till today ends!I’m trying to think of other gifts to add to this and need help! His parents aren’t the sentimental type who will hold on to traditional gifts, they’ll probably just make it into a keepsake box, so what else should I get? The gown is already bought, I was thinking “my first book of prayers” but need something else.. Any ideas? thanks! :)

Use a couple layers of poly batting (you can get it at most fabric stores) to pad the box. The polyester batting works wonderfully and when applying the fabric over it, you can pull extrememly tight so that you lose all wrinkles in the fabric and once you tack the fabric – I would use staples – the batting poofs back nice and plump – To finish, use a coordinating felt cut just shy the inside of the size box. Glue over the entire underside (where staples were placed) with tacky glue – On the top, you could use small pearled beads and sew them on to decorate the box and make a more 3d look to it (if attaching and sewing on beads, do this prior to attaching to the box)

I gave a set of coins minted in the year he was born, now that he is older, he really treasures them.
