It all just depends on what type of Items you are looking for. We used personalized fortune cookies for our daughters blessing and they were a huge hit. It was something they would never forget yet it wasn’t something that would bring clutter to there homes and end up in the junk drawer. If your interested this is the bakery we used and they were affordable and delicioushttp://www.kbbakery.com/fortune-cookie.html?gclid=COWj2JfCs5ICFQUUiQodHRBSMA
I’m not sure if it works in the UK, but you can put them on M&Ms! It’s expensive though.http://www.mymms.com/You can put words and faces.
Use a couple layers of poly batting (you can get it at most fabric stores) to pad the box. The polyester batting works wonderfully and when applying the fabric over it, you can pull extrememly tight so that you lose all wrinkles in the fabric and once you tack the fabric – I would use staples – the batting poofs back nice and plump – To finish, use a coordinating felt cut just shy the inside of the size box. Glue over the entire underside (where staples were placed) with tacky glue – On the top, you could use small pearled beads and sew them on to decorate the box and make a more 3d look to it (if attaching and sewing on beads, do this prior to attaching to the box)
This website has some cards that can be used, but they are very “vanilla.”http://www.studiostyle.com/blank_photo_insert_cards.aspI’ve had several friends send photo postcards that they had made. They have the announcements on them and look really snazzy. They might be cheaper, too, depending on how many you want to order.http://www.cardstore.com/
Do you mean christening favours in the same way that people give out wedding favours to their guests at the reception of a wedding? If so, I have never heard of this and think it’s a bit over the top, to be honest. If you just mean a personalised gift for a baby to commemorate it’s baptism, then something like an engraved silver picture frame or a voucher to get their footprints cast in clay or to get a professional portrait taken would be nice. http://www.forkeeps.ie
My mother in-law made my grandsons gown the name went near the hem. She said that way if the gown was to be shared by other siblings/next generation they could be added in a circle around the hem.
You can buy personalized christening blankets for baby girls on eBay athttp://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=9&pub=5574634183&toolid=10001&campid=5335994191&customid=&icep_uq=Christening+Blanket&icep_sellerId=&icep_ex_kw=&icep_sortBy=12&icep_catId=&icep_minPrice=&icep_maxPrice=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg

My godmothers started a beautiful strand of pearls for me on my christening day. It was completed around my 18th birthday. The original gift had three pearls….and every birthday and Christmas I would get more pearls to add onto the strand. The idea being….this is something your goddaughter would wear on her wedding day, graduation day, job interview….etc.I still have my pearls….and will treasure them always and look forward to passing them down to my oldest daughter. They will, hopefully, become a family heirloom!!Just an idea…..
Something unique like naming a star after the baby (most include a photo of your star, certificates, or you can usually get a teddy bear holding a star aswell) or you can get beautiful satin (in pink or blue) signature bear for everyone at the ceremony to sign, or personalised candles with a photo of the baby printed on it with a cross and the date etc. All available online!
