Am I being unreasonable?
Unlike most parents who want their kids to get a job, my parents are encouraging me to let them give me money. I want to work for my money and not be leeching off of them all the time and get a job. I’ve looked around all summer but my parents say no, we’ll just give you money, have fun and be a kid for now. Well, to have money jar for kids fun and be a kid I need some cash. My parents don’t get it why I want a job, yet at my age (16) they had jobs. And then tonight, well, I had this coin jar that I had been saving coins in for a while for our vacation that we go on tomorrow…and I was planning on taking it to a grocery store to put it in the Coinstar for bills. But instead, my parents want me to donate it to our church (when I’ve already donated some of my money to the church) and they’ll reimburse me for the money in the coin jar that I donate.I don’t want their money! I want to take my money to the Coinstar that I got on my own and get bills and I want a job! But am I being unreasonable? Should I just take their money?
