Payroll Advance took my money when they were not supposed to! Help!?
I got a payroll advance that was due on Sat 9/25. I went in and asked them about their extended repayment plan because I wasn’t going to have the full amount until the following week (i get paid weekly). The lady at the register told me it’s better not to do that option, and not to worry, they would just hold my check until this saturday Oct 2. Here it is Tuesday, my rent check is in transit, and BAM – a $300 charge to my account! They put my check through anyway! Now my rent check is going to bounce, and I will have to pay the bank’s fees, as well as my landlord’s bounced check fee.I called and one of her coworkers said “well I don’t know why she would tell you that, we don’t hold checks. kids bank register she probably said we could do it but it wasn’t guaranteed.” I told her NO, she said that they would hold my check and there would be no problem. So then the original lady got on the phone and said “Yes, I did tell you that, and I did note your account, I don’t know why the check went through but you can come get another loan if you want.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME????I’m freaking out. I asked her why should I have to pay these bounced check fees, when you assured me that my check wouldn’t be deposited? So as of now, she’s supposedly checking with her manager to see what she can do. The only option is to get that money back into my account NOW, and I know that’s not what they’re going to do.I shouldn’t have to pay for bounced check fees when she clearly told me there was no problem and my check wouldn’t be deposited until next weekend. What can I do???? I have contacted my landlord, but who knows if they’ve already put the rent check through. My bank will most definitely bounce the check because they are very strict. I feel like they should take responsibility for any fees I incur from their negligence. What are my options? I know probably not a whole lot. I will never do business with them again.I’m looking for advice… and please note that I know I should never do a payroll advance again, that I shouldn’t have in the first place, so please keep the negative remarks away from this post. I want to cry right now. Just when I thought I had it all together, it’s all falling apart. Thanks for looking.
