I sold a coin on eBay, buyer payed through PayPal per my request. I mailed the coin through USPS and posted tracking information on PayPal and to the buyer. The tracking information shows the coin was delivered on a Saturday – the money was released three days later from PayPal and I transferred it to my bank account. I get an email from the buyer the following Friday saying that he hadn’t received the coin. I emailed him and said the tracking info showed it was delivered 6 days ago – His comment ‘I know it shows it was shipped, but I didn’t receive it.” After a few emails back and forth, I told him to call me – he would never talk to me over the phone – just emails. Was anyone else home? The fact is that it’s hard to do anything 6 days later. I live in IL and the buyer lives in NY – PayPal was in favor of the buyer because I didn’t use signature confirmation. I don’t sell alot of things on eBay – my house was in foreclosure, and I had to sell off some valuables. It was given to me after my dad passed away. I made one mistake not using signature confirmation – I believe I’m being taken advantage of by the buyer; and PayPal is standing behing their policy. I have no coin and I have no money. What are my options? Do I take the buyer to court? Would I have to file in NY? Can I take PayPal to small claims? I truly believed that the ruling was going to be in my favor – Please Help
