CO Blonde, No, I haven’t been feeling the love, but thank you. Also a hearty thanks to Ben Stein. With all the ungrateful expressing their opinions, it is nice to hear from the grateful. I’m stateside these days and have questioned whether the American people are worth the risks we take. It is people like you and Ben Stein that make the risks worth it. It is our families that make it worth it. The rest of them, the ungrateful and disrespectful, merely share in the benefits.

LOL… I actually know of one that this is reminiscent of but I can’t really talk about it because of Federal oversight (if you know what I mean). The parties involved were “friends of ours.”

Go to the personnel departments of the City of Atlanta, surrounding suburbs, the Sheriff’s Department, and whoever else in the area that has a police department. Turn in an application, take the tests, go to the interviews, and say yes or no to whoever offers you a job.Every department has a place that they send you for training and you’ll have to pass the academy and graduate to be kept on in their department. Sorry, but all police departments that I know of operate pretty much the same way. If you really want to be an officer you will have to go through some of their bs in order to qualify.

I think you were wrong. First you were to yield to oncoming traffic which you didn’t do. Police are trained to estimate traffic speed which you are not and I’m sure the last thought in your head as the truck was hitting you was not accuratley judging his speed. if your vision was obscured by piles of snow thats all the more reason to be extra careful. sorry you were at fault.

From now on mister, your questions are limited to 5 paragraphs or less, 3.5 major points and less than 1,500 words or less, less being the preferred method.:-) Thanks.

I would definitely be suspicious, mostly because he lied and tried to hide it from you. If he had told you ahead of time or asked if it was okay to give a female friend a V Day gift, fine. But lying shows he has something to hide.

They make 11 dollars an hour. After a year they make 13 per hour. Not much of a future.

Here my advice first put some the money in a rainy day fund such as CD then the rest.Keep your F-150XLT until it die why get in major debt when there no need to.Good luck!

Forget “new brackets”. If what’s wrong can’t be fixed by bending, then you’d never get anywhere by buying new bits.A competent enough shop can unbend anything that’s bent. Find a friend that has some mechanical ability and get him to look at it and think about what actually has to be bent.

Let’s see…Honduras during the hurricane season, during that bad sunami, building houses, hospitals, schools in Iraq, we basically rebuilt germany after the war. Our military is deployed world wide helping other countries rebuild. Figure it out…war is the last thing that we want to do.

You are so funny. This was fun. I don’t know what half the words you used mean – lol. What do you expect from a lady suburbanite?!

You say without “going into too much detail”.However, you don’t mention where the $27,000 came from. Is that the car? Is that student loans? Is it credit cards? If the bulk of it is a vehicle, let the company reposess it. It’s a ding on your credit score, but it’s better than going bankrupt.I do feel sorry for someone in your position (and I’ve been there myself). What you have to do is minimize your expenses (which you mentioned). Cut out cable and go with an antenna, if you have a home phone and a cell phone, get rid of one of them. If you have texting, drop it from your cell phone service. High speed Internet … readily available for no cost at your local library, or you can use dialup which is minimal cost. Don’t eat out at all. Eat Raaman Noodles for lunch and dinner (all you need is running water and a microwave), or Peanut Butter and Jelly, or Tuna fish, etc. Pasta is very filling and can be spread across a lot of meals for one person. If the car is reposessed, consider taking public transportation.Write down a budget. You know, here’s my:Income: $2,250/monthExpenses:   Rent: $N   Groceries: roughly $200-$250/month   (we feed our family of 6 on $5.26/person/day, so we spend $950-$1000/month for groceries)   Electricity: $x   Heat: $y   Water: $z   Phone: $p   (either cell phone or land line … choose the cheapest)   TV: $0   (drop cable/satellite and buy an antenna at Radio Shack. It a large initial expense, but long term … about 1 year or less … it will pay for itself, and you can borrow DVDs from your local library)   Read: pick up books to read from your local library for nothing as long as you return them in time.

Use your 2K wisely by taking the bus, metro, carpooling, etc. while you get your transmission fixed. Even if it can’t be fixed, use alternative transport until you have saved up enough to buy a used vehicle. Do some research and find something dependable. 2K will get you a decent used car if you do basic maintenance on it and should have no problems for at least a year. You can help yourself also by cutting your commute. Either find a closer job that you can bike to or move closer to your job. Yeah it sucks but cutting back in everyway possible is what is going to get you financially healthy and teach you some lessons about how to handle your money better.
