What they will do is sell your truck and house and come after you for the difference which tends to be a very hefty bill. They can and will come after you for their money and the only way to stop this is to file bankruptcy. If you do file, it is best to file against everything you can since this is basically a one shot deal. Meaning, you can’t file again in a few years. Call a bankruptcy lawyer and see what they recommend as there are different types of bankruptcy and the laws have recently changed.

Easiest way would be for you to pay off the loan, get the title in your name, and then sell the car.

If you can, a safe deposit box at the bank with you the only one with access. If all else fails give it to someone you can trust to keep for you. That’s a lot of money to trust a friend with and have them keep quiet about it, so choose wisely.

The finale to Scarface is another hot one.

Sounds like the place converted your paper check to an EFT and hit it twice. NACHA rules require the bank to resolve a disputed transaction, but you do have to do some work. They SHOULD be able to see that the item is a duplicate and SHOULD reverse the one transaction pending investigation. I would also be following up with the car place letting them know that two transactions hit from them so they can withdraw the duplicate. If you are expecting this to all happen in a couple of hours, it probably won’t.

They may be worried about paying a bunch for gas. I’m not a parent, but i’m a Chevy S-Series owner. Be sure to get a 2WD cuz the 4WD, V6 or V8, get terrible mileage. 13-14 sound about the norm for a full size. doesn’t matter if its AWD or 4WD, the extra weight for the front drivetrain is still there which greatly affects the mileage. You’ll see 18 at best assuming the proper maintanence has been kept up on.

Scam comes to mind although I haven’t heard of one where they want to wire transfer the money. It is usually a cashiers check for an inflated amount that you need to send the “overage” to the “shipper”. Always be skeptical of buyers from out of the country. I don’t mean to say they are all scammers, but it is a lot more prevalent.

wow bless your heart for trying so hard. Sending good energy to but yes unfortunatly they can. When it comes to institutions like this they signed a legal agreement. Unfortunatly you have to suffer through the consequences of this. Its not fair but I do hope things get better for you. Your mom could try a second morgatge only as a last option though.ps your mother should think about a lawyer. If your doing this for her she should do this for every one else.

More than likely Wachovia has reported you to Chex Systems and you won’t be able to open a account with any bank until you pay them off.

I have a friend who lives and owns a business in Mexico who was doing some wire transfers while she was here on vacation. She used the bank Wachovia (east coast bank) they didn’t charge a % just a flat $12 fee per transaction.

Here’s the latest obscenity; now the Real Estate people are lining up for a handout because of falling house sales and profit margins. This is getting nuts. We are rewarding failure with taxpayers money.
