you could do a cash advance from the card while at your bank and deposit the funds into your checking account. There will probably be some fee or fee’s associated with the cash advance but it’s doable!
Sorry to disapoint, ebay giftcards now require a paypal account but no bank account is needed
I work for b of a. Cash is fine. You just cant use credit card unless doing a cash advance is going to be okay but they will ask for ID and your parents have to be there. So cash is your best bet.
yes you can…sometimes the company will make you call it in to verify your identity. call instead.
http://www.gambling-law-us.com/Federal-Laws/internet-gambling-ban.htmOverview The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (the “Act”) enacted into law at 10 a.m. ET on Friday October 13, 2006. The Act adds the following provisions to the money and finance provisions of Title 31 of the United States Code SUBCHAPTER IV – PROHIBITION ON FUNDING OF UNLAWFUL INTERNET GAMBLING 5361. Congressional findings and purpose5362. Definitionshttp://www.gambling-law-us.com/State-Laws/Click on the name of a State in the table below to read the excerpted text of its basic gambling laws. Websites containing state statutes are available for all states, although they may be out of date. The excerpts presented here are taken from those websites. gambling-law-us.com also provides hyperlinks to those websites for most of the gambling laws that are excerpted. It may take a long time before new provisions of a state law are incorporated into the online text the state makes available. Before acting on any information contained in gambling-law-us.com you should get up to date and to the point advice from a lawyer5363. Prohibition on acceptance of any financial instrument for unlawful Internet gambling5364. Policies and procedures to identify and prevent restricted transactions 5365. Civil remedies5366. Criminal penalties5367. Circumventions prohibitedSection 5363 bans and and Section 5366 criminalizes the acceptance of funds from bettors by operators of most online gambling Websites. The operators affected are those who:(1) being engaged in the business of betting or wagering(2) knowingly accept(3) proceeds from credit cards, electronic fund transfers and checks<(4) in connection with with the participation of a bettor (5) in unlawful Internet gambling, which is the sponsorship of online gambling that violates any other federal or state anti-gambling law..The ban and criminal provisions become effective immediately on enactment.Mere participation in online betting or wagering is not banned or criminalized by the Act.Section 5364 requires financial institutions to adopt procedures and policies designed to block the flow of prohibited funding to the operators of the affected online gambling Websites. This provision does not become mandatorily effective until the federal regulators adopt implementing regulations. The Act allows the regulators 270 days (about July 2007) to write and adopt the regulations. Section 5365 gives federal and state attorneys general the power to seek civil remedies to help enforce the other provisions of the Act. The remedies include ordering an Internet service provider to remove access to the Website of an operator who violates Section 5363 or other Websites that contain hyperlinks to such sites. Such remedies may only be sought as to Websites that are hosted by the particular Internet service provider. Bets and Wagers Section 5363 does not make it illegal for a mere player to make bets or wagers. Rather, the Act applies only to those involved in the business of betting or wagering. Section 5262 defines a bet :as the staking or risking of property in order to win something of value based on the outcome of:a contest of others a sporting event, or a game subject to chance the purchase of a chance to win a lottery or other prize the award of which is predominantly subject to chance the making of a wager prohibited under the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, or as including “any instructions or information pertaining to the establishment or movement of funds by the bettor or customer in, to, or from an account with the business of betting or wagering.”
I depends…who is claiming the interest on taxes? Who made the deposits? Believe it or not, a lot of people try to scam the IRS, Social Security and Medicaid by putting their children’s names on bank accounts. (should I be pointing at you). They are all aware of this, so these kinds of accounts are noted. Large withdrawals and deposits are often reported under the patriot act. If you are trying to get around the tax laws or make other shady dodges, eventually you will probably be caught. Paying principle, interest and penalties isn’t fun.*******By “child” I meant child of your mother. As our parents age, there are tactics to get more medicaid coverage without spending savings….or to avoid gift taxes…one of those tactics is to put a “child” (they can be a 50 year old child…it doesn’t matter) on the account as a co-signatory. The government has become aware of this stuff and looks for it. I know because my father (age 66) got caught doing that with his mother. If you are BOTH contributing to the account and the money could conceivably be yours…then you have nothing to worry about….IF however, the government can prove that deposits are solely your mother’s, they may come after you for that tax money.
It depends on your state. In CA, it’s not legal for gift cards to expire. The company can charge a minimal processing fee but it can never expire. Call the number on the back of the card. You may find it’s hasn’t really expired.
13.9 Relationship between PayPal’s protection programs and Chargebacks. Credit card Chargeback rights, if they apply, are broader than PayPal’s protection programs. Chargebacks may be filed more than 45 days after the payment, may cover unsatisfactory items even if they do not qualify as SNAD, and may cover intangible items. You may pursue a Dispute/Claim with PayPal, or you may contact your credit card company and pursue your Chargeback rights. You may not pursue both at the same time or seek a double recovery. If you have an open Dispute or Claim with PayPal, and also file a Chargeback with your credit card company, PayPal will close your Dispute or Claim, and you will have to rely solely on your Chargeback rights. If PayPal does not make a final decision on your Claim until after your credit card issuer’s deadline for filing a Chargeback, and because of our delay you recover less than the full amount you would have been entitled to recover from the credit card issuer, we will reimburse you for the remainder of your loss (minus any amount you have already recovered from the Seller). Before contacting your card issuer or filing a Dispute with PayPal, you should contact the Seller to resolve your issue in accordance with the Seller’s return policy as stated on their auction or website.13.10 No Double Recovery. You may not file a Dispute/Claim, or receive a recovery, for a purchase under PayPal’s protection for buyers if you have already received a recovery for that purchase directly from eBay or the Seller.
No you cannot. Only cash may be used to purchase a money order
Take it to a bank. If you have a bank account, take it to your own bank, They will do a cash advance against it and give you the cash and keep the card. If you don’t have a bank, go to a Bank of America branch and cash them in there. All you have to do is sign a couple of papers and they hand you the $50.
if it has a visa/master card logo it should be ok. Make sure you are entering the correct information. If it still does not work you can try to find a seller that has the ability to accept credit cards directly (usually a store not an individual) and let them charge it since it’s a gift card you have no worries of them screwing up your bank account or real credit card.
You can check it at following web address:http://www.tcfbank.com/
If the card is backed by a US credit card, it’s possible they will do the exchange rate. Your best bet would be to contact the specific bank you are buying the card from and ask them. If the card has a customer service line on the back of it, that might be another good source of info.
You would have to call them.
it won’t accept gift cards or debit cards. you have to use a credit card or itunes card. http://usitunes.blogspot.com/
well you can get a visa gift card almost anywhere nowa daysthen you can use it as a credit cardthen once you get you should register the card elsethe mechant may decline the cardread the followingUsing Visa or American Express Gift Cards to Shop Onlinequestion.jpgOne of the most asked gift card questions, particularly on Yahoo Answers is whether you can use a Visa or any other bank issued gift card (American Express, Discover, or MasterCard) to shop online. The answer is yes. However, there are additional steps you have to take to prevent your card from being rejected by the merchant. The problem with using Visa (or any other bank issued) gift card online is that there is no verifiable name and address associated with the card. When buying things online, most merchants want your name and billing address to match the name and address you have on file with your card (credit, debit, or bank gift card) issuer. Therefore, before you use your Visa or other bank issued gift card, call the merchant/financial institution that issued the card or go to their website and add your name and address to the card. This will ensure that when you use the card online, the name and address you provide to the merchant for billing will match the name and address on file for the card. Once you have registered your card, you can use it online just like you would use a regular credit card.If your information (name and address) has changed since you registered your Visa gift card, call the card issuer or go online and update your information before you use the card online.
It is so nice that you want to do something for her! Like everyone has said, a note to the supervisor would mean so much, because it really shows what a good job she is doing, and it is always nice to be noticed! Also, the person above me is correct; it is a little bit of a gray area to actually give presents to only one person. When people bring us presents I find the ones that we appreciate the most are the ones that are homemade, like brownies, cookies, etc. good luck! and definitely write that letter to the supervisor
I use to enjoy a box of chocolate or cookies that can be placed in a common space and employees could snack on as we go about working.
No, the bank can’t do that. You can spend the card on anything you can purchase with a Visa card.
American Express is a good bet. We buy them at work and use them for gifts. They are generally accepted pretty much anywhere. Very similar to a money order.
